Handmade stoneware · India

Shaped by hand, rooted in the land.

Vases, tableware and decor thrown on the wheel, fired in small batches and finished by hand in our riverside workshop.

Heritage Grove

Every piece begins as river clay and ends on your table. In between: a wheel, a kiln, and many patient hands.

  • Thrownon the wheel, one piece at a time
  • Firedtwice, in small, watched batches
  • Glazedin our own river-ash teal

The Craft

Thrown slowly, finished by hand.

Nothing at Heritage Grove is pressed from a mould. Each vase, bowl and cup is centred on the wheel by one maker, trimmed the next day, and dried for weeks before it ever meets the fire.

  1. 01

    Wedge

River clay is pressed and folded until every pocket of air is gone.

  2. 02

    Throw

Each form is pulled up on the wheel by a single pair of hands.

  3. 03

    Trim

Leather-hard pieces are turned, footed and signed with our sprig.

  4. 04

    Fire

Two slow firings set the clay and melt our teal glaze into glass.

Our Roots

A workshop by the river.

Our clay is dug by hand from the banks of a slow river two hours north of the workshop, the same banks our makers’ families have worked for generations.

A share of every sale goes to planting native trees along that river, so the grove in our name keeps growing long after your vase has found its shelf.
